Budget airlines and Visa Electron
There’s probably not a human being on the planet that doesn’t despise the absurdly high fees that budget airlines charge to pay with credit and debit cards. The best way around this, as Karen Bryan explains, is to get a Visa Electron card.

But fellow travel writer John Oates has stumbled upon another way of avoiding debit card charges. Well, with Easyjet anyway. Easyjet charges £2.95 to pay with a debit card, but it appears as though there is a loophole in the system.
Visa Debit or Visa Electron?
If you choose Visa Electron from the drop-down menu, and then input the details of your Visa Debit card anyway, there is no charge. It appears as though the Easyjet system can’t actually tell the difference between a Debit card and an Electron card, despite charging more to pay with the former…
