Holiday in Chernobyl

Chernobyl photo travel

One holiday snap I choose not to show to my mother… In Ukraine, it’s possible to get within 100 metres of one of the biggest villains on the planet. Reactor 4 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant was the one that went into meltdown, spreading a radioactive cloud across northern Europe and killing hundreds – probably thousands over time – in the local area. There’s now an exclusion zone around the station, but it’s still possible to visit on a tour. I’ve not developed any signs of Spider-Man-esque superpowers yet.
