Pimp my ride, Malaysian-style

melaka trishaw photo travel

In the Malaysian city of Melaka, competition is fierce amongst the trishaw owners. For the dubious privilege of being allowed to pedal overweight Westerners around in roasting, humid conditions, they need to stand out from the crowd. Thus the one who can cover the trishaw in the most ridiculous flowers and have the best sound system pumping out 80s party hits at the back is likely to get the most business. Not pictured is the man who cycles round all day to the tune of Wind of Change by the Scorpions.
