This hotel is shrouded in history – it was where the first Oscars ceremony was held and it’s where many of the big stars have stayed. But that history comes with baggage, and the Roosevelt has plenty of ghostly stories to tell.
The room in which the inaugural Academy Awards bash was held is said to be haunted by a man in black.
There is also a theory that maintains the hotel is spooked by the ghost of Marilyn Monroe. Guests and staff have reported seeing a blonde woman staring back at them in a mirror – and the mirror in question used to be in Monroe’s favourite room.
Other oddities include people hearing voices from empty hallways, a potential poltergeist taking phones off the hook and unexplained cold spots.
