Magic shirts
There’s something wonderful about finding a ‘magic shirt’ – one that you can take away with you, generally treat appallingly and still find that it gives you lots of love in return.
I travel a lot, and generally try to take as little with me as possible when I do. That means packing the right things, and a few magic shirts are just the ticket for keeping weight and space down. And, whilst I’m prepared to listen to other suggestions, I’m yet to find a better one than the Craghoppers Nosilife short-sleeved shirts.
Key qualities
Craghoppers bangs on about the anti-mosquito mumbo jumbo these shirts are coated with, but to me that misses the point. They’re extremely lightweight, they fold up really small without emerging a creased-up mess and they’ve got passport-sized zip pockets. They’re also very quick-drying (perfect for washing in the sink) and loose fitting whilst still retaining shape (they don’t get that sweaty in baking heat). Importantly, they’re just about acceptable for wearing in the evening as long as you’re not going out somewhere too posh.
Shirt price
Therefore, stuffing a few of them in my bag allows me plenty of space for other things, and I know that there’s rarely going to be an occasion where they won’t be passable attire. The drawback, of course, is that they’re pretty expensive. These shirts are currently being advertised at £45 on the Craghoppers site. That said, I’ve often seen them cheaper (around £25) – either in direct Craghoppers sales, on Amazon or in Debenhams – and they’re best bought when the deals are around.
NOTE: The links contained on this review are linked to my affiliate accounts with either Craghoppers or Amazon. I receive a small commission from anything bought as a result of clicking through on these links. I do genuinely wear and recommend the shirts, however, and if you’re wanting to buy them, I advise shopping around for the best deal irrespective of where it might be.
